Chicago Aerials

I finally took one of the helicopter tours of the city after many months of wanting to. It was awesome. Here are some of my pictures.

I have quite a few more to go through and edit, so I'll probably add more later. But for now, enjoy.

I don't get on S LSD very often.......never saw the Burnham Park harbor (is that 31st St?).....how new is it? Nice to see something like this on the South Side lakefront to go along with Diversey, Belmont, and Montrose on the north.

Of all skylines, Chicago is the one that photos most fail to do justice. That is not to say that it isn't impressive in photos, just that it is so much better in person. I'm not sure why. Maybe because it is so soaring and extensive with many ups and downs, it is hard to capture in a still frame.

Yes, I feel the same way! I finally got to visit for the first time a few weeks back, and I was so blown away by the magnitude of the skyline. There's no other skyline that has that kind of impact anywhere in North America aside from NYC. Chicago was a lot bigger than I expected...the downtown area is vast compared to the FiDi here in San Francisco (just using that as a reference point).
