I don't get on S LSD very often.......never saw the Burnham Park harbor (is that 31st St?).....how new is it? Nice to see something like this on the South Side lakefront to go along with Diversey, Belmont, and Montrose on the north.

Of all skylines, Chicago is the one that photos most fail to do justice. That is not to say that it isn't impressive in photos, just that it is so much better in person. I'm not sure why. Maybe because it is so soaring and extensive with many ups and downs, it is hard to capture in a still frame.

Yes, I feel the same way! I finally got to visit for the first time a few weeks back, and I was so blown away by the magnitude of the skyline. There's no other skyline that has that kind of impact anywhere in North America aside from NYC. Chicago was a lot bigger than I expected...the downtown area is vast compared to the FiDi here in San Francisco (just using that as a reference point).

Awesome shots; I love the sense of depth you get with shots from this angle as opposed to from the ground up. I feel like you really get a sense of how tall some of these buildings are, especially the Sears in this one...
