Same with Air Canada, BTW. There's no giant DT skyscraper like Rico said, but the executives really do live in Montreal and make the decisions there.

L'homme d'affaires ne s'inquiète pas de l'importante offre de copropriétés sur le marché montréalais. Le bureau de vente de l'Avenue est ouvert depuis octobre seulement et 60 % des unités ont trouvé preneur.

«Si la demande diminue, il est possible que certains projets ne voient pas le jour, mais les fondamentaux sont bons, a-t-il analysé. Les gens ne veulent plus de maisons, mais plutôt des condos.»

Selon lui, l'intérêt des baby-boomers et des jeunes acheteurs pour le marché montréalais ainsi que la venue d'immigrants dans la métropole vont alimenter la demande pendant un bout de temps. Surtout que les coûts d'emprunt ne sont pas élevés en ce moment.

Chez Canderel, le partenaire de Cadillac Fairview dans la Tour des Canadiens, Daniel Peritz ne croit pas que l'offre puisse devenir plus importante que la demande. «Les banquiers vont régulariser le nombre de condos en exigeant des préventes plus élevées», a expliqué vice-président de Canderel.

Le promoteur croit toutefois que de petites corrections de prix pourraient survenir en périphérie de Montréal, à l'extérieur du centre-ville et dans les banlieues.

C'est-à-dire loin de ses projets qui sont situés au cœur de Montréal.
Je me demande ou cette nouvelle tour sera placer?

They are having this big sale next Saturday (http://lavenuecondos.com/). I hope this is to be able to announce an extra 7 stories!!

Seriously, their marketing has been the highest, tallest in Montreal since day one and now Canadiens is real close, each having 50 stories. Imagine if the Canadiens put a cheater-pole on top and beat l'Avenue to the highest title... They have to add a few stories!

If they add the extra 7 floors, I'm going to do jumping jacks in the streets, seriously. 175m is already impressive (by Montreal standards), 200m will place us back in a category that only two other cities in the country are in.
