Perhaps the Federal government could assist by spending tax dollars on helping Winnipeg electrify our transit system (or fund an LRT) instead of bailing out companies like Bombardier.

the conversation should be about how much carbon/pollution a place has produced over it's lifetime, not currently... those are the places that need to pay to reduce emissions and develop new technology. human's should have an equal carbon budget, per person, and that's how we should be factoring who is paying for climate change.

Interesting - quite a polarizing figure.

^ Her only peer on council who ever understood cities and urbanism as well as she did was Glen Murray. Now she is leaving

Winnipeg needs to elect a torch bearer for intelligent urbanism. Sort of an anti-Browaty. I had hopes that it might be Mayes or Orlikow but they are totally lacking in the right stuff. Pagtakhan basically inherits the urbanist mantle by default.

Ironically enough Gord Steeves was one of the better councillors in that regard until he adopted his fake uber-populist stance which led to him getting destroyed in the last municipal election.

Matt Allard is a progressive urbanist.

^ That's what I heard prior to the last election, but the only thing I've heard from him since then is silence.

He approved 825 tache against the wishes of the residents in the area. He also advocates for transit improvements. That being said, he also pushed for more stuff in sage creek.
I know allard personally and he's a nice guy but the jury is still out on his urbanism.

^ Whatever you say, Matt

OK, that's good news. Maybe he needs to step up and take on a more vocal leadership role.

Anyone catch the new speNDP TV spots featuring misogynist wife beater Wabbie trudging around with his new family proclaiming he has made mistakes in the past and that he has changed now.

Come on Wabbie come clean about the assaults on your former live in partner!

If the Ndp ever wanted to make sure they go further down in the polls. This was the way lol. It makes me giggle each time I see him.

This province may be more left than progressive. I wouldn't be surprised if his past doesn't haunt him.

Everytime I see him I'm reminded why he always looks like he's hiding something, you can't outrun your past!

I've paid zero attention to local politic lately. Is Wab the leader? Wait let me google.

Crap, he's the leader. Drunken, woman beater, taxi driver beater. Awesome.

What is wrong with the world... Americans are literally dying because the president is a racist, etc, etc, etc, crooked, etc, pig.

^ Gotta agree with Palister on this one.

The only big thing they got wrong (IMO) on the pot legalization front was making the legal age 19. Should have been 18.
