If your idea of a cool city with good quality of life equates to "amazing wealth pouring in", then there's not much I can say.

I own 2 properties in Miami and have seen their "values" go up and down and up and down and up... since the late 90s. So with property values skyrocketing ridiculously, I stand to make out, if I choose to sell. But for all the good things that have come out of the building boom from the mid 2000s to now, I'm not so sure they are outpacing the bad for the vast majority of the citizens of Miami. If with the boom came with a much greater and earnest investment in and subsequent presence of the institutions that make cities great, then I'd be a much bigger cheerleader, but a step outside the South Florida bubble provides a lens that allows one to see through the "luxury" real quick.

Meh, I don't see what's special about it. Especially in comparison to Herzog & de Meuron's other residential work, which generally tends to stand out a bit more. I'm not saying it's bad, it just doesn't stand out. Maybe the interiors are amazing.

It's a nice design, but I like Muse better.

GoldenDusk has provided the details above. The most promising thing about this proposal is that developer is the same one that is building the Panorama tower & will also develop One Bayfront Plaza (over 1,000+ ft. | 300+ m) in the CBD eventually.

Prior to the redesign by Sir Norman Foster + Partners this ugly monstrosity was set to rise and was to be called Villa Magna :

"The last remaining development site on Miami’s Brickell Corridor, 1201 Brickell Bay Drive sits atop 2.5 acres of prime waterfront property and is designed for two main towers in excess of 60 stories."

Publix Is Coming To Overtown’s 3 MiamiCentral

By TNM Staff on May 11, 2017

It’s official: Publix has signed a deal with All Aboard Florida to open at the 3 MiamiCentral project in Overtown.

The grocery chain will occupy the ground floor of the project, with just 26,671 square feet of space.

Publix has recently been opening smaller-format stores with a “hipster vibe” geared towards millennials, but it hasn’t yet announced plans for the Overtown store.

A Memorandum of Lease also appears to show one level of parking for Publix customers, with 93 spaces.

The lease will run for an initial term of 20 years, with options to extend it for another 40 years.

Publix has been granted the right of first refusal in the event of a sale, and also has the sole right to operate a grocery anywhere at MiamiCentral, including the adjacent station.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

* This will be the 4th. Publix to open in the downtown / Brickell area within a one mile radius of each other.
