Things in Toronto are booming again. If "again" is the right word. We had a drought of new product annoucements. now they are coming fast and furious.

Over the past 3 or 4 months, nothing really sticks out in my head. You'll have to enlighten me cause it seemed pretty dead from September on, for New Development Annoucements.

Everything we have been talking about has been around for quite some time now.

Except of course - The Hullmark Centre in North York does come to mind.

Oh I just thought of another one. 151 Front Street which I believe is in the 550 to 600ft range.

So basically 2 600 fter's announced (brand new over the past 2 months) that for sure we didn't know about before.

One more, The Canadian Tire building in Yorkville too.

151 Front street has been around for a while now.

Keep in mind that the winter period is usually a slow time for new projects. Expect things to pick up over the next few months. Either way, its nice to have time to see projects in sales actually move to the construction stage. The more projects on the market, the more sales are spread out and the longer it takes for them to get moving.

First these towers are massvie. At 166m they will completely change the cityscape of North York. Mediocrity on such a large scale is a dismal proposal for this city borough. Is there anything architecturally novel about these towers or should North York accept that its a second rate neighbourhood in the scope of North America megacities and its main street's purpose is pruely to mass people conviniently on a subway line which connects to their work downtown? Forturately it has no chance of ever been approved by city planning under use and density in its current form. - ice.

interesting... I liked the last block of 4 towers that went up but the mirror image of West one and N1/N2 kind of a bit to much of the same thing. Good to see they want to mix things up. - ice

Does anyone have any pictures of the Canadian Tire Warehouse site on Sheppard near Leslie where Concord Adex will be building a number of 28, 15 and 12 story condos? Thanks in advance.

The North York development is very nice, I think the architecture blends well with the condo nature of that area.

And actually I disagree about the comparisons with New York. I find a lot of Toronto development and/or Torontonians preoccupied with labelling and emulating Manhattan features. Part of why I like the GTA is because its very different from typical American development, and I consider it to be better.

But I guess letting the New York towers in as a tacky carbon copy isn't all bad, I mean Las Vegas has already done that in poor taste. At least Toronto has a functional series of condos instead of a tacky tourist stop.

B-A has excavating equipment on site and RBC Center has a foundation. Ritz sales centre has been torn down. To make way for excavation.

Four Seasons has been increased in hieght from 46 stories to 50 stories.

195M for the taller tower.
89M for the shorter tower. -

Toronto is getting some nice elegant towers in a very posh area of town.

This building will in effect - double the size of the posh most portions of Yorkville. (Yorkville is the richest and most elegant shopping district in Toronto with the name brands of Prada, Channel, Tiffany, Rolls Royce, Ferrari, etc etc)
