Hmm, going to have to disagree with you. All provinces in Canada have splendid beauty, but IMO none offer the sheer variety of BC.

In BC you have ocean side beaches adjacent to ancient rainforest, the magnificent arbutus / gary oak woodlands of southern vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands, the Cascades / Coast mountains full of glaciers and volcanic cones, the amazing Fraser Canyon, the spectacular Thompson Canyon / Valley (the most beautiful area in Canada in the summer IMO with is hot dry sagebrush scrublands and steep canyon walls), the Okanagan, Shushwap area, the Cariboo, the Rockies (including Canada's tallest Rocky Mountain peak, Mt. Robson), the tallest waterfalls in Canada, the Prairies of the Peace River region, the Stikine River Canyon system, etc...

So essentially, everything from mountains, rainforest, glaciers, grasslands, and arid scrublands.

BC will always be #1 for me regarding natural beauty.

Quebec and Alberta are tied for second.

After that it is much more difficult to decide / rank, though I have a sweet spot for Saskatchewan.

Yeah, we have it all. That is exactly why I decided to move to Vancouver over any other city in Canada. You just cannot beat the variety and proximity of it all! It's incredible that I can just take my bike (no car needed) and everything from mountains, beaches, canyons and rainforest to vast farm fields is within my reach

Yeah, where is the most beautiful is subjective and up to the individual, but geographically and climatically BC is the most diverse province in Canada.

I don't know about geographically, I think that hat might go to Alberta or Ontario, but climatically, yes for sure.

It’s pretty hard to beat Alberta for variety. Mountains, foothills, prairies, badlands, mountain forests, boreal forests, deserts, lakes and rivers of various sorts. From an overall beauty standpoint I couldn’t say which is more beautiful, and there’s no point really because each is singularly beautiful. But, from this born and bred Saskatchewanian’s point of view, with respect to beautiful mountains, the limestone peaks around Banff are the best looking mountains period.

It amazes me that people actually do try to fight this, even though any geographer will assert that BC is the most varied province, but oh well! This varied geography is largely why BC has the most climatic zones...

Its like people in Nevada, Montana, or Texas trying to claim that they are more geographically varied than California.

Alberta`s major handycap for variety is that it is landlocked. All other water features listed are found in nearly every other province. Ontario`s major handycap is its lack of large mountain systems.

If anything I feel Quebec is BC's biggest rival for variety.

BC has prairies and badlands? Where? Quebec has big mountains? “Varied” is a subjective term, unless you want to apply some specific definition to it, but from my standpoint while BC has many different kinds of mountains - and I do love mountains - they’re still mountains and they don’t offer as much variety as places that mountains, and prairies, and badlands, parkland, Canadian shield, etc.

BC does have prairies, in the northeast corner. It is called the Peace River. BC also has a massive plateau system in the Cariboo, very akin to the foothills. Also, the rolling grasslands of the Nicola valley are very prairie feeling (look around Douglas Lake Ranch).

The dry semi desert canyon systems of the Fraser and Thompson rivers are also essentially badlands themselves. Especially the Fraser north of Lillooet.

And yes, Quebec does have rather large mountain systems.

This feels like the classic missunderstanding that BC is just mountains and forrest.
