Agree, that depiction looks really good. Edmonton is at a size where it's on the cusp between big city skyline and small city skyline. From perusing around SSC, it seems that a lot of cities start building sizable office/residential buildings when they get close to 1.5 million. Surely, Edmonton isn't that far off from a couple buildings in the 150-250 m range?

People have different priorities. I'm sure you know that by now.

doesn't negate how superfluous a priority it is. Where does it end? There are far worse condos in the downtown area

MAN! ^^^ These towers (Four Seasons/1 Bloor) are really making everything else look small... its a good/bad thing. bad thing because it throws off the balance/continuity with the other skyscrapers. but nonetheless its INSANE!

I like the extremely tall buildings, makes it easy for more tall buildings to go up in the future without much of a fight.

Bring it on.

All depends on the airport overlay being removed in part or full

150m is out zenith at the moment. (sorta)

So it's an airport issue? What's an airport overlay and how does it relate to flight paths? I was under the impression that Edmonton's airport was much further away from downtown than is the case in places like Hong Kong.

That's because they are small.

I do agree that the balance is better without Four Seasons and One Bloor. The Yorkville skyline has far better balance than any other skyline in the GTA.

Balance is overrated - go for the height when you can get it !

The CCA is only a few KM's from the downtown core. You're thinknig of the Edmonton International, which is outside the city limits to the south

I like the tall buildings, but I see how people would like these monster towers poking out from the smaller towers in the surrounding 'hood.

Everyone has their preference I guess.

Oh man, its a slow day in skyscraperland, when all Cal gets to talk about for the whole day, is the future of Canadian skyscrapers and skylines. that havent even been built yet.

Thank god its 35 degrees today, and I can spend the evening chillin on the patio in Yorkville..

Otherwise I might end up going crazy...

A great B&W night shot from Mike in TO at UT inspired me to add One Bloor to the view. It sure will dominate the Y&B skyline in the near future.

I know. I will probably add FS to that picture and if I feel industrious, I'll add U Condos, Chaz and maybe even the top of the Cumberland Terrace Condos.

(Maybe I should have done a better job on One Bloor if I was going to add all the rest.)

Anyone else see the "dirtiness" in the shape created by 1Bloors balconies?

Steveve, even a gay man that has never seen one, can see it.
