What's the latest on this building? Seems like it's taking forever for the ball to be rolling...

in my experience using all caps and bold type will make people take immediate notice, which totally facilitates the prompt answering of important questions.

And emojis. Using lots of emojis denotes seriousness and importance.

If you go by there, the parking garage entrance looks like it takes up half the footprint of where Phase 2 would go. I mean, I guess they have a plan for that, but its pretty big.

The garage entrance is shown in the image you posted, and to me it looks like it's about the right size. Phase II drawings show an entrance that's almost a third of the West ground floor. That's what I see when I look at the site right now.

I promise you that when and if I know anything I'll let you know. Until then, I would gently suggest that repeatedly asking the same question isn't going to result in you finding anything out.

I'm pretty sure it's because everyone that posts here really, really, really wants more short, blocky buildings in the downtown core area.

There has been some motion on the lot last week when a crew replaced the temporary construction fencing with a more permanent chainlink fence with posts set in place. But that might mean they are just getting ready to keep it as is for now...

While there maybe some activity on the lot, I can't imagine they could start on construction on this project for at least 6-12 months. There is no permitting activity for the lot (which you can check by going to https://www.portlandmaps.com/advanced/?action=permits, Property ID R150026). Permitting on a project like this would take at least 6 months.

Before it goes for permit, the design would need to be approved first. As far as I know the design has not been approved yet. I don't know how to check where it is within the design review process, but Maccoinnich and his awesome site NextPortland.com are very good at posting when projects move through the design review process.

^^^ This is correct. The project hasn't been submitted for Design Review, and would realistically be about a year out from construction if they submitted it tomorrow. If they haven't submitted it for design review by the end of January (when the IZ requirements hit) I would consider it dead.

If that's true, then the city needs to wake up. There's hardly anything special about these dreadful Bridgehead designs, that look more like walls than anything the city should be proud of. This structure would look even better at a taller height. If that's what the developer desired. The city is doing itself no favors by banging their hard fist down. Give alittle leeway in these matters. The city might end up with some special architecture.

Dammit! That was a beautiful proposal! It would have taken the sting of that ugly yard building as well

Damn shame that height scares this city
