Great shots! Photos 7-10 actually show my company's headquarters building!

Aaron (Glowrock)

PS: If you're in the mood for a great view of the Galleria area, go to the cafeteria on the 10th floor of the Marathon Tower (it's on top of the parking garage)... The food's actually pretty good, the place is absolutely enormous, and the views are to die for!

From the various posts in the forum it's easy to see how Houston has so many faces, depending on the part of town or whether you venture off the freeways. Uptown and River Oaks are are real eye openers, especially on a day like that when it's so bright and clear. What would be a nice post would be a tour along Allen Parkway or Memorial Drive as one approaches downtown.

After all of this time Houston's skylines still fascinate me and I live here. And to think Westchase, Memorial City, The Energy Belt, the 290 sector, the ever growing Clear Lake/Nasa cluster, and Greenspoint can't be seen from where these were taken (I see Sharpstown/Westood silently sitting in the background in picture 12 ).

With all of Houston's faults, it's skylines are imposing attributes. Thanks for posting.

What a great set of pics. The homes of River Oaks are spectacular. I too love the many faces of Houston. Great set.

Awesome! Great set of pics, Boris. Man, those skyline shots are great, Downtown, Uptown and Medical Center.

Does anyone else think St. Luke's, (blue tower in Medical Center with spires), looks taller than 316 feet. Just look at the Memorial Hospital Tower which is 430 feet. St. Luke's looks almost as tall as it does.

And the other tallest outside of downtown that everyone forgets. In any other city this would be huge - San Felipe Plaza at 625 feet. I've never seen it in person, just on the skyline.

nice... I just returned after being away for six years. I cannot get over the freeway construction. In particular Katy fwy and the beltway. Good lord, some of the structures must be 200' high

The mix of greenery and skyscrapers is and will always be a favorite aspect of the city of mine.

thx you guys. I am honored by some of the comments by you great photographers. Talk about positive strokes.

DHarper6, your ideas on a photo "tour along Allen Parkway or Memorial Drive as one approaches downtown" is great. We'll be getting some new bikes soon. Perhaps we'll park in Memorial Park and take a bike ride to DT and back and take some photos on the way.

And Glowrock, I tried to get to the top of the parking garage at Marathon, but it was a Sunday and those guys had the garage all locked up.

Adios

GREAT shots Boris! The westside skyline cluster is simply amazing, and excellent views of downtown to boot.

The randomness of skyscrapers in Houston is what makes it unique, IMHO.
