Wow, great thread--that's some really solid architecture in what appears to be a very leafy, walkable and bikeable area.

Holy Shit.

I've been to Denver a few times but this area is new to me. I love it. Might be my favorite neighborhood I have never seen in person. I love 1920s-40s architecture and this place is loaded.

I've got wood.

Outstanding thread and pictures! Thanks for sharing, CPVLIVE.

Cheesman Park Neighbourhood is very nice. I like very much its houses. Very complete tour. Lovely area, a fantasy neighbourhood. The park is awesome too.

By the way, I see spanish names in some houses, like "Casa del Rey", "Segovia" or "Del Prado". Is there any spanish colony in Cheesman?

Congrats and greetings from Madrid, Spain.

An awesome set. I nominate it for the "Set of the Summer".

I was recently in Denver and we had a great time at the Botanical Gardens and exploring the surrounding neighborhoods. Great pics!

I was trying to avoid the two-parter thread, but it did get a little larger than I had envisioned. Is the thread too difficult to open? If people are having problems accessing it I will break it into two. Feedback anyone?

Thanks Danny - No, there's no colony in Cheesman per-se, but the Spanish influence is very evident as you noticed. Francisco Vasquez De Coronado was the first European to explore what is now Colorado in 1540. The Spanish influenced the the culture of the area (especially southern Colorado where there are existing cultures or colonies) with religion and language. There were Spanish land grants in Southern Colorado. Spanish names were given to everything throughout Colorado, Cities, Counties, Mountain Ranges, Rivers, States etc.

Fantastic thread, as always, CPVLIVE!

I don't think it's too large. I viewed the thread on my iPhone and it loaded just fine.

You should edit your signature at the bottom to include all of your awesome Denver threads including the threads on Highland, Capitol Hill and Curtis Park!

Should we expect Baker next? Or maybe Cherry Creek? Congress Park? Bonnie Brae? Washington Park? Platt Park? Denver has about 50 square miles of incredible pre-war, leafy, architecturally-rich historic neighborhoods. There are still many more to go!

Excellent thread. I really enjoy your threads as you have great composition.

I use to walk from Lodo to Glendale every day from work for like three months through the spring of 2006 on different streets through Capital Hill, uptown, Cheesman Park, Speer or Country Club to Cherry Greek.

Other times I would go south on Broadway and then head east through Wash Park and Belcaro. All great walks and I enjoyed those evening walks.

Right in the middle of the core of the city. The densest part. Some of those neighbourhoods are spectacular.

Awesome thread CPLIVE!

Not to take anything away from this great set, but I noticed aboud 10-15 of those photos are actually from the Congress Park neighborhood. York/Josephine is the border I believe.

But this is great work! Baker next please!
