well hey , i'm from Australia ,we dont have stuff like that , only land windmills
i was thinking the maintenance costs on the submerged windmills would make them a lot less efficient

looks cool tho

Oh my, Windmills in the Ocean?

Thats what I love about Otahita, so detailed. Can we get some street scenes, looking up at some of the towers maybe?

^^definately Patrick. i'll snap those images right now. i've never seen that view of the city myself.

Mocholate, i believe that the turbines in the ocean experience more wind so the energy obtained is covers those costs. SLP has no problem making a profit from their wind farm. it is typically the rich beachside communities that get their power from SLP's wind farm. they can afford it.

thank you everyone for the comments

it was harder than i thought. mine aren't that great looking from down below.

looking up towards the Goliath Bank Center (front). the Credmore Building (back left) unnamed building (back middle) and OtEx Center (back right)are also visible

looking up towards the Titan Building (left) and Anizari World Plaza (right). sorry for no textures on some of these buildings.

looking up at One Sunny Place. an unnamed building is on the right.

looking up at the City Hall and Clock Tower (left) and Otahita Tower (right)

looking up at the Goliath Bank Hall (middle). SFG building (left) and another unnamed building (right)

a view down the main downtown street. there is practically no street detail!

thanks guys.

okay, the movie stuff works. i have good and bad news though. the bad news is there's no way i can record a movie with shadows, textures and everything else that normally makes SketchUp slower, becasue when it's recording it's impossible to manuever at all and sketchup automatically makes the textures shaded anyways. the good news is that it does work i just have to turn shadows off and use shaded textures. i will try to make a commercial for one of the companies right now. i hope this doesn't take long.

i don't know what the animation thing is about in SU

and are you talking about the link in my signature? if so, you can edit signature in user CP. i copied the url on the first page of my thread and used it in the signature.

i recorded some stuff in Otahita for the commercial. i was lucky becasue i used textures enabled and fog and it actually worked okay. the commercial will be for Southern Light and Power, Co. now i need some real life footage of certain things to mix with it. you all will understand if you ever see it.

Maya sounds complicated. i like SketchUp because it's very easy (compared to others out there like this one) but good luck if you do that

the SLP commercial is almost done i'll post link soon. there isn't much actual footage of Otahita in it but it was basically a test to see if i could even make the movie at all. it's about a better environment through SLP.

thank you fox

okay everyone, the commercial is done. i had to make a YouTube account to upload it. you're either gonna like it or hate it (especially the background musics) because it's kind of wierd i'm not sure how i feel about it. there really isn't much footage of the city itself, just the main building in it and then well you have to see it to understand what it's about. i'll tell you it involves the company SLP and their alternatives to energy that pollutes. took a total of about 3 hours if you add all the time i worked on it today. the text and logo were made in Photoshop. everything was compiled and edited in Windows Movie Maker.

view commercial here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8YDopYC0hE&v3
