Yep despite this slowdown we will have a lot to watch!

Some proposals should still filter through, we just wont see them go so sales as quickly as they have been lately.

I know of another currently unknown 200m+ tower that should be announced some time in the next year.

"Unknown" in the same way that the plans for 60 Harbour is unknown, or something totally out of left field? We need clues!

Left field! Pretty central location too.

Saw the design the other week, looks pretty cool.

Sleek, beautiful. Boutique looks great in that shot too. I love the staggered balconies.

Well, this one WILL be open for the Film Festival. In fact, I saw cars coming out of the underground garage yesterday. It will open to the public after the Film Festival is over.

That's an incredibly clever strategy for the Shangri-La. The promise of a hotel that is reserved exclusively for TIFF participants and closed to the public will be a huge draw for celebrities who want both luxury and privacy. Trump and the Ritz better step up their game.

It may seem that way at first glance however it actually may be a very poorly calculated move. The Shangri-La is technically not going to be done and there will be a lot of opening day, new building headaches, and ongoing construction issues which is exactly what you dont want to have when there are a ton of big shot primma donna celebrities at your hotel.

That kind of negative buzz can have long lasting impacts on your reputation.

I think Shgangri-La is making the wrong move going for a short term boost to revenue by scrambling to open a half finished product this year. I think it is very risky and could really hurt them in the long run.

Also important to note that Ritz is so expensive and booked out by studios in huge blocks during film fest that it might as well be exclusive as well. Trump is likely similar to a lesser extent.

I love the Shangri-La signage. I wonder if they'll put their logo on the roof as per the renderings.

Given that they showed one in the Vancouver renderings but made no attempt to actually put one up I'm not sure they will.

Granted Vancouver has tough sign bylaws, but they didnt even try, which may mean they have made a branding choice to forgo the sign. I hope not but it seems the precedent is there for them not to have one.

Little more info on the tower I metioned a few posts back.

It might be going to the city in a matter of months. Still a ways away from marketing etc... but it's definitely making a lot of movement quickly.

Oh and at this point it is going to be well over 200m

That's great to read. I'm quietly waiting in anticipation for what it will looks like. And, to me, more importantly, how tall it will be.

Can you be more specific in when we (ie the general public/enthusiasts) may know more details?

I too think I know of the tower left coaster is describing, though I only saw what appeared to be a preliminary line drawing. I know the location and approxamite height as well.

The location must be amazing if they're planning on initiating sales in a condo market like this. Then again, Massey Tower seemed to have no problems. I'm guessing a Yonge Street location.

What a shame. I'd rather it dosent get built than some lousy 100 meter tower on such a prominent intersection.
