I'm loving these photo sets of Melbourne. I've been rewatching Kath and Kim over the past week and it's nice to see something other than Fountain Gate mall.

I've never been to Australia, but I love the look of its cities, at least in photos. Lots of things are very familiar for an American but then other things are surprisingly exotic, like the 19th century terrace housing.

just for reference... Fountain Gate is a real shopping centre in Narre Warren about 40km south east of the city. The 'burb Fountain Lakes (from Kath and Kim) is set in the real 'burb Patterson Lakes - about 25-30km south of the city on the bay and the actual filming inside "Fountain Gate" was inside Southland shopping Centre in Cheltenham about 20km south of the city (not far from Patterson Lakes).



edit: that's embarrassing that K&K is shown on US TV............ very embarrassing hah.
