Calgary is the best city in Canada, Vancouver doesn't even compare, and Victoria is literally hell.

"No, no, no! the census doesn't tell you the true picture..It's the estimates that really count!...Calgary really is now part of the big 4, and is un-officially officially 500 people larger than Ottawa as of 1 day post Census 5:32 EST didn't ya know."

"Ottawa has height restrictions didn't ya know..This is why there are no talls.
Tell you what though..It makes up for it in sheer density"

Our urban spaces are so urbanely urban. That saying they punch above their weight, in terms of overall urban scope, really is an unfair portrayal of the raw intangible and undeniable street level urbanity of the urban realm.

Quite clearly we are punching well above our weight!!

God, this thread just reeks of Canadian insecurity. This is why Vancouverites never post here. I feel we have more in common with SF and Portland than any other city in Canada.

Hell? The charming "Venice of the West Coast", with its famous network of navigable open air canals of unfiltered sewer water? Surely you're joking.

Great. All this time I thought it was bluish-green.

Although the proper definition of terms such as metro, lrt, alrt may be quite well defined, I'm just gonna go ahead and cherry pick certain aspects that I like from the definitions and apply them in random and arbitrary ways that works best for me. The city of _____ transit system is the best in the country by a wide margin. Running a train of 68 cars with 5 seconds in between trains we could move 4 364 1262 PPHPD.

OMG, enough Toronto. Let's make a thread with a title that has requirements designed solely to exclude Toronto.

On a serious note, Vancouver is like a San Francisco/Seattle mix.

if it wasn't for all those damn condos blocking the waterfront Toronto could be a true world class city.

Oh, and we would need a couple of soopertalls as well.

Because Toronto has developments like Trump and Aura it is literally the laughing stock of the ENTIRE WORLD. Not to mention the evil planners didn't approve a development by the worlds best architect and the city's number one philanthropist / renowned art collector. A true world class city would approve such bold vision in a heartbeat.

22 feet on FCP and 2 feet on the Mirvish/Gehry tower is what's preventing us from achieving world-classdom.
