This would be a perfect year to host something like the winter olympics. Oh, shoot, we did that last year, the warmest winter in recorded history.

Is the Canada Line just closed between Marine and Bridgeport (ie the north arm bridge) or it closed from Marine to Brighouse?

Oh well. At least Korean food is better than Quebecois food on a winter day even if it's the opposite for trains

Just got home, trains are running across the bridge again. They're still stuck on one shuttle train Bridgeport-Brighouse atm. If you're taking the Canada Line in Richmond leave a lot of extra time. I saw lots of 'Not in Service' trains coming in and out of Bridgeport while waiting.

Lots of snow here in Maple Ridge, that is for sure! I am not driving anywhere today. Already someone stuck out front of my house.

Anyways, we can all blame my wife for this weather!

My wife is Japanese and we met 4 years ago. Her first and only winter in Vancouver was the winter of 2008 / 2009, the snowiest winter ever and the coldest since the mid 1960's. This, after I told her that winter in Vancouver sees little snow and that temperatures are only on average a couple degrees cooler than Osaka (which they are historically for December and January).

Since then she has only been here in the spring and summer.

This last few weeks I was in Osaka, helping getting her ready to come here again. And again I was telling her that the weather should not be that cold. With dread I saw the coldest November weather I have seen hit Vancouver since I was in elementary school.

Our plane landed yesterday to a snow covered YVR. First thing i heard as we landed was "Yuki desu ka???"

And now today, we woke up, jet lagged, to about 15cm of snow outside.

Let me just say, she no longer believes me that winter is usually green in Vancouver and days that do not break the 0 mark are seldom.

Sorry everyone hehe

there's about 3-4 inches of snow in the arbutus area, but it stopped snowing about half an hour ago.

Snowing pretty good earlier year. Highway #1 between Abbotsford and chilliwack is snow covered. About 2" in spots along there.

Just drove home from Chilliwack tonight (Saturday Jan 8) and Hwy #1 was compact snow between Chilliwack and Abbotsford. I am just glad my brand new Michelin Primacy MXV4 all season tires held up pretty good

some people have said that this year's winter is going to be the worse since 2008. but i haven't seen ANY snow at all. not that i'm complaining or anything. I don't really want it to snow here. i like the sunshine, and cold brisk air.
