Wimpy's? Cool.

I'm gonna miss the misplaced quotation marks of the old place.

Kaito Sushi opening soon in Gulliver's Square at 800 Queenston Rd.(and Centennial Parkway) across from Eastgate Square, right by TD bank, Pizza Pizza and Pho Dau Bo.

BTW, first time ever at Gate of India on James st N., during Supercrawl. Service could have been better, but the food was simply fabulous!

came across U Shao BBQ on john street across from the court house. looks really nice inside, and could be a nice addition to downtown.

I love korean bbq, and will maybe try it out, instead of the usual allyoucaneat sushi joints

Freshly Squeezed is coming to the space between the Market and Jackson Square food court, roughly where there used to be a juice bar 20 years ago.

shao bbq was really tasty, considering it isn't officially grand opening yet.
all you can eat lunch bbq $13, equals I don't have to go to toronto for korean bbq, plus I found this place had more selection and variety.

very nice addition to downtown.

Went last Friday. The place was full. The service and the decor were good. The food was alright but the heat was set too high and the meat would burn quickly. They need to coat the cooking surface with a piece of lard first and lower the heat. An added plus was that the korean side dishes were authentic. Overall it was a good night out.

Hamilton Food Truck Gorilla Cheese Wins Spot on Food Network’s Eat St.

http://torontofoodtrucks.ca/hamilton...etworks-eat-st

Quote:
Gourmet grilled cheese truck, Gorilla Cheese, just announced on their Facebook Page that they’re the grand prize winners of the Eat St. video contest.

The contest required food truck owners to submit a video showcasing their truck and their food which fans could then vote on, with the winner earning a spot in the popular Food Network show.

Relying heavily on their fans and followers, Gorilla Cheese was able to generate more votes than any other truck in both Canada and the U.S.

Amazing. I voted for them as well and it's just awesome how much support they were able to get. Going to be a good highlight for Hamilton.

I checked out Rapscallion Rogue Eatery on John at Young last night. Really good. Only open Sunday nights right now, but definitely worth eating at.

Rapscallion is the latest venture of Matt Kershaw, chef/owner of Burlington's The Alex (and a member of the family that brought us Ancaster's Rousseau House).

Looking forward to checking it out!

Jack & Lois (301 James St N) had a soft opening last weekend and will be open again starting Friday for art crawl (complete with liquor license!).

I haven't tried it yet, but they are said to feature gourmet sandwiches and soups. Sounds like a great addition to the street!

Next door to the north. Zucca bar is 299 James St., N. ( That is a "Z", right?)

Very clean and open cocept.
So if you are on Ottawa street, pop in. Farmers market is right behind there.
Share the deep fried Oreos, good for two and a pleasant surprise.
Drove by yesterday and in was dark and there is a for sale sign in the window.

Looks like a popular GTA-area pan-Asian restaurant will be landing soon in Hamilton.

Spring Rolls is moving into Lime Ridge Mall at the main entrance next to Old Navy. It's space made available when Old Navy recently reduced its footprint in the mall.

Cora (one of my favorite breakfast places) will be celebrating the grand opening of their second Hamilton location today at 1400 Upper James Street.
