^ Just a block or so from Legacy! Thank you very much. I will have a look (and hope a bumbling amateur won't irritate them). Glad to see that a shop like this joins the Prairie Ave Bookshop, the music related shops, the universities, etc., in a robust critical mass of cultural stores on the Wabash corridor.

Gotta love the contrast between Classic and Modern that Chicago offers. Great pics, Early Buyer.

^Really nice angle you were able to get there. That's the first one I've seen from Wabash that really shows the trapezoidal shape of the upper half. Nice work.

On another note, I am not really pleased with how the new structure interacts with the buildings that it supplanted (save the facades)--it practically screams, "these old facades are nothing more than that, they are useless! 21st century for the win!"

Possibly. However, the L tracks above Wabash really obscure the glassy tower, so all you can see are the historic facades until you're on the east sidewalk of Wabash, right up against the building. On a different street with clear sight lines, this would appear far more heinous.

The Adams/Wells station offers a dramatic view, although a bit close for photos.

New perspective I hadn't noticed before today, from Dearborn Street...

Great shots Shawn, I had never noticed that the walls(doors) behind the balconies were at a different angle than the rest of the face.

oh, I was just being silly. We sure need some more tallness right around where park michigan would have gone up

Hey, nice photos, by the way. I never noticed those transfer beams. Very cool

great pics everyone! love that last pic, harryc. sad knowing the interiors of those buildings have been destroyed, but glad that the facades have been preserved at the very least.

how many more floors are left before the Legacy tops out?
