A little tip, IluvATX. With imgur if you put a lowercase h before the .jpeg in your URLs it makes them a more favorable size for this forum.

Seaholm offices downtown near completion for big Athenahealth move

Jan 16, 2015, 1:12pm CST

Chad Swiatecki
Staff Writer-
Austin Business Journal

Athenahealth Inc. is preparing to move into its high-profile office space downtown in the renovated Seaholm Power Plant, with an expected Feb. 2 move-in for the health care software company's 70 Austin employees.

The Watertown, Massachusetts-based company has been growing its Austin workforce for three years in a North Austin location near The Domain. The Seaholm move will allow it to grow to more than 600 employees in the next 10 years.

From the past couple days.

It's kind of a shame that this will obscure the most flattering views of the Bowie.

First look: Austin's old power plant downtown now stunning creative office
Feb 2, 2015, 5:27pm CST

Jan Buchholz
Staff Writer-
Austin Business Journal

The massive Art Deco-inspired Seaholm Power Plant in downtown Austin has long captivated the imaginations of locals and visitors alike, and now after many years of dreaming and planning the retrofitted building is almost ready for its new occupants.

About 70 employees of Athenahealth — a software company — will move into the building near Cesar Chavez Street and Lamar Boulevard on Feb. 9. The Austin Business Journal was given a private tour of the facility, which is one component of the $100 million Seaholm LLC redevelopment.

Click on the photo for your own first peek of the new offices.

Is the actual power plant going to be occupied entirely by Athenahealth? Or will parts of it be open to the public?

If it's the former that's very disappointing.

Boiler Nine Bar + Grill will be opening in it. It's supposed to be 4 floors with a bar on each floor, 3 kitchens and an observation deck.

Has anyone talked about putting a new stop light on C. Chavez to handle traffic coming in and out of Seaholm?

I think there's a stoplight planned for the West Avenue extension, as well as the Nueces extension but I feel like a well-timed stoplight would benefit Walter Seaholm Drive as well.
