Rink Training Centre | 2019

95,000 sq ft 3 rink facility heading to South Winnipeg

20 million dollars, privately funded

Set to open 2019

Shovels hit ground late last year - didn't find a thread about this my apologies if there's one already!

Quote:
The Rink will offer hockey training and education in southwest Winnipeg in a complex nearly the of two football fields.

It will house three ice rinks — including an NHL-d rink that can accommodate 700 spectators — as well as an off-ice training centre and retail outlets for clothing, hockey gear, and skate and nutrition-related services.

The facility will also feature a gym, an indoor track, specialized training ice and a goalie-specific rink, along with spaces for research and lectures.

Always nice to see this type of stuff privately funded. Except it's out in the boonies.

it's 1 regulation rink, other 2 rinks are mini-rinks like they have now. great to see this PRIVATE investment happening. for those that aren't too connected with hockey, The Rink started a "prep" hockey program and currently run 3 teams that play in the CSSHL (vs western canada prep schools).
