Absolute crap today. Rain and drizzly. Gusty as well. It went as high as 11C shortly before noon just before the rain.

Low of 5C this morning.

The warmspot was Bella Coola, BC at 19.5C.

Another sunny spring day.

I pushed my nose into a bunch of fresh lilac blossoms today.
One of the best spring experiences, I think.

Thursday's high at Vancouver Harbour was 15 C, the low was 5 C.

It's still so wet and miserable outside that I had pizza and Pepsi for breakfast just for the hit of dopamine.

Still a noticeable difference between the extreme SW and places further north and east like Sarnia and London.
Crabapple trees are also blooming here in Windsor.

I noticed some trees started blooming this week, but it’s just getting started.

Amazon Photos keeps showing me pictures I took on this day in past years, and I noticed we are already behind 2021. There was definitely more foliage and blooms two years ago than now. It looked like we were heading towards a record-breaking spring back in March but things ended up slowing down significantly. Now we’re probably just slightly ahead of the average.

I love these first two images. The forest definitely has an original look and vibe.

Ugly rain, mist and overcast skies turned to a beautiful sunny afternoon in Toronto, 15C

But I stayed inside and did my taxes.

A much better sight to wake up to than yesterday.

EDIT: Park behind my house is blocked with kids, maybe four parents watching them all. Life is returning! It's nice to have birdsong and laughing kids out back to drown out the sound of the trash screeching their domestics in the street out front

If I hadn't bought the giant 25kg bag of seed at the sale price, I'd feel a little worse for wasting some seed. I, like many others in the neighbourhood, decided to try and sow grass seed in lawn soil way earlier than usual due to the weather. Like I mentioned a couple of days ago, it took until day 9 for just a single blade of grass to come up. The end of day 3 is when that happens in peak conditions.

It took until day 11 for this many to come up. Today is the morning of day 12 and none came up overnight like you'd expect in warmer conditions. It apparently was supposed to do down to 1 overnight so not surprising.

Waiting this long for the seeds to germinate means the birds picked off a lot of seed.

Hoping it really takes off over the next few days even though it won't be particularly warm outside.

^ Same here, I regret doing it early I see so many birds in my backyard I imagine they’s not a whole lot of seeds left.

I also seed under the soil so I have two layers of it. The layer undernearth isn't getting the sun but as the soil absorbs down into the ground that bottom layer of seed should then be exposed and hopefully grow. At least the birds haven't gotten that yet.

But man, we'd had plenty of rain so we had the same idea of saving money on not having to water it in.

I mowed low before I seeded and the lawn looked great. But the existing turf has grown and the lawn is uneven now. But, I don't want to mow while there's still so much seed that hasn't germinated yet. So have to look out at the uneven lawn and can't do anything about it. I'm itching to mow lol.

I took a look at the area I seeded and there’s still plenty of seeds left, so not all is lost. There’s also a few new grass blades. I suspect a warm day or two may be enough to kickstart the growth, but we’re just lacking the heat at the moment.

+5C and steady rain in Moncton at 2 PM. I was out and about in my car exploring, and there was some ice pellets mixed in with the rain hitting the windscreen.
