Calgary Stampeders

Thought I'd kick off the Stamps thread with a note that I received a reminder notice for my Grey Cup tickets (balance due end of the month, and thanks for the post-date), and that based on the tickets still available to season-ticket holders through April for the really big shew on 29 November--
Platinum: Sold Out
Super Red/Grey Cup Platinum: Sold Out
Red/Grey Cup Gold: Sold Out
Blue/Grey Cup Silver: Sold Out
Super White/Grey Cup Silver: Sold Out
Cheap Seats: Only $225 Each!
End Zone Seats: Only $195 Each!
--my rough-carpentry estimate is that the Stamps' season-ticket base is sitting at about 24,000 right now. Pretty solid figure for a park that packs 35,650*.

So who wants to jump in with thoughts, rants, and miscellaneous prognostications on the Stamps' odds of repeating at home this fall?

_____________________
* The end-zone seats will add just shy of another 10,000 to capacity this year if I don't miss my guess.

Noticed crews yesterday putting up new signs throughout the parking lot at McMahon indicating its "illegal to consume alcohol in the mcmahon stadium parking lot". All the Cardel banners that had been hanging in the parking lot have also disapeared, so I'm assuming Cardel must have really cut back on their advertising spending this season.

So how was fanfest this year. I was out of town and not able to attend. Was there anything new for this year?

About a week now for the first pre-season game.
Question - Does anyone recall which pre-season game we have seen in Mcmahon the last few years? To me it seems that we always get the first pre-season game whereas I would prefer to see the second one since the competition is usually a bit better in the second game compared to the first game.

Well, I'd certainly join you, but I'm here in Edmonton...

Nevertheless, have a great game, and Go Stamps Go!

Dinos won today, let's hope the Stamps win tomorrow. Both Calgary football teams in a national championship game would be nice

Well, the last time the Dinos were in the Vanier Cup, the Stamps went to the Grey Cup. So let's hope for a repeat.

I'll be at the game tomorrow decked out in red. It's times like this I wish I was 6'6" and 250lb, but alas, I am 6'1" and 170lb. I'll be sitting in the university section too I guess. Of course all this will make a Stamps win just so much greater.

Fun to be there, obviously not the desired outcome.

See you next season Stamps.

Ha ha... the only thing that would make this better if it was Edmonton that beat them. Oh well, can't have it all.
