Yaletown Gun Shots?

Did anybody in Yaletown hear a single gunshot last night (technically Aug 9th) at 2:30am or so? There was a loud bang, tough to tell where it came from, then I heard somebody yell something along the lines of "Come now he's been shot!" about 10 seconds later.

Saw a few cop cars in the Cambie/Expo Blvd area. Anybody else hear anything?

I can't find a single reference on the news today.

Maybe they were filming something~ If it hasn't been in the news.

That or someone's been shot and instead of the public calling 9-1-1 when they hear it they ask on an internet forum 12 hours later.

I'm sure if it was gun shots you'd here it. I have some experience with guns, that boom last night could have been one, or some other explosion, and somebody yelled out about it as a joke. Weird though, I'm sure it woke up a few thousand people.

Theres always stuff like this that happen and its never showed on the news, wether its about 4 blocks being blocked off due to a maniac or roads near a school blocked off because of a man wielding a knife.

Yeah, Canadian police doesn't blab to the media every time something happens like they do in the US. Makes it hard to know what's really going on.

I'm starting a new job even deeper in the DTES next week, and will be walking through the entire DTES on my commute twice a day. Can't wait.

I often think I hear gunshots around where I live. Usually it's a blown electric box outside. I have actually heard gunshots and read in the news about them and they aren't as loud as a blown electric box.
