Isn't the opening date of this building this summer 2018?

Seeing some form of bright light on the spire, looks like they may be trying out lighting. Can anybody get pics?

From fairmount, it looked close to the same temperature as the bay-window lights that run up the spine. Was definitely brighter than I expected - looked great! I hope this is the case and they don't do what they did with CC1 and switch light temperature at the top.

Last night - not a great pic but shows the effect. It's very bright.

Look at the potential this can have on the entire skyline; Philadelphia's skyline at night will be seen from far away; it states that the city is vibrant and also causes other buildings to do the same if they wish to be marketable.

I see bright things ahead for Philadelphia; very bright things.

I was thinking along the same lines. Maybe [whoever manages Lib Place] gets penis envy and decides to brighten 1 and 2 LP so they don’t get lost next to the bright new lantern of CTC.

am i alone in this?
I used to have this very same opinion when this building first started going up but had a feeling it would turn out better than the renderings. I thought the massing was awkward but now I see it as bold and unique! This tower really fits in with the rest of the skyline and looks like it's been there for years. I never felt that the original Comcast Tower had the same prominence One Liberty used to have on the skyline and I think this tower matches it, a fitting tower to hold the distinction of Philly's tallest.

My only complaint is that it does block a huge portion of the skyline when viewed from the northwest. But as seen in TallCoolOne's pictures, it makes up for it by looking absolutely iconic when viewed from that angle.

That’s a great point about the view from the northwest. Although ctc does block the view of some of our other buildings it’s fine imo bc it is a very flattering angle for Ctc.

I’m on an Amtrak in north Philly and I can see the bottom of the spire lit up!

Foggy/cloudy early morning, but the lantern was acting like a real lantern, or lighthouse -- a beacon of light in the darkness!

I am so far super impressed by the brightness.

Was it still just the first lower section lit up TCO?

I think so - appeared that way, only the first section.
And also to reiterate, there was a good layer of fog at the top, but the lantern was still pretty bright.

yeah lantern brightness looks great, hopefully it'll be like that throughout the spire upon completion.

I would not be surprised if the lantern light gets toned down.

I could see that bottom section lit from Delco last night. Needless to say that sucker is really bright. Also they've added a warning beacon to the top of the lantern that flashes white during the day and red at night.
