Postmedia Network and National Post reveal new downtown Toronto HQ

Postmedia Network Inc. announced Friday that it will be moving its headquarters and national newspaper to 365 Bloor Street East in downtown Toronto next year.

Toronto staff of Postmedia Network and the National Post will move starting Dec. 1, 2013. The company has signed a 15-year lease to occupy “several” floors of the 19-storey office building at the Bloor Street East and Sherbourne intersection.

The company said it will be renaming the building and has rights to brand its exterior.

Along with Coca-Cola moving its headquarters to King East and Google moving its headquarters to the financial district, it's becoming clear that corporate flight to the suburbs is reversing. Suddenly companies want to be right downtown, where the action is. That's a real sign that the city is blossoming.

Bloor and Sherbourne - The intersection of Rich and Poor, Rosedale and St. Jamestown.

Perfect location for the National Post if you ask me.

Well it's certainly not the core, but I consider "downtown" to be any area that is contiguously connected to the core the via highrises (i.e. the general area bounded by the Rosedale Valley, the Annex, Spadina, Lake Ontario and Sherbourne). To me, if I can get there without having to pass through lowrise areas, it's downtown.
