Don't think this was posted before. Render of a two-storey building at 80 McLaughlin found on Spitfire Design's Facebook page:

Interesting building design.

This one has flown under the radar, but must be well in the planning stages. The render shows signage for two businesses:
1) - Impact Direct, which is a direct marketing company for the automotive industry (including assisting in special sales events for dealerships).
2) - Studio Moncton, which specialized in fully furnished and serviced rental accommodations mostly for working professionals.

Curiously, if you punch in the address in Google Maps, you come up with the playground area for Sunny Brae School. The property immediately to the north of the school however has a "for lease" sign on display (at least on the street view image).

That for-lease sign is the style My Studio Moncton uses on all its properties, so they clearly already own that property. They could be planning on demolishing the existing house or just building in front of it... The Facebook post says 80 McLaughlin, the rendering shows 78, and that house is at 90, so who knows...

I'm wondering if someone dint write McLaughlin, and the address would not actually be 78-80 Elmwood Drive. Since the building had been demolished not that long ago. Also considering the address say's 80, while on the building say's 78.

Can't say I am a big fan of this one. Elmwood Drive in this area I wouldn't think is an ideal location for huge trucks driving through. They should stick to north of the TCH or at least extend the road all the way to Harrisville so trucks could get off on that exit instead.

Well, this confirms those Dollarama rumours.

Kind of a strange location for the building though. They would have better visibility if located opposite the Sobeys parking lot...........

I had heard from a friend that it was going to be a Subway. Nothing concrete as my friend did not have any proof of this.

I just did a render of what it might look like finished. Looks like it will be fenced in the back, so no connecting with Masters Road.

Good stuff!

You didn't include the new NBLC next to the Sobeys.

I was on Elmwood Drive today and noticed Doctor Deals had its parking lot blocked with cones and police tape across the stairs. Does anyone know what the situation is with Doctor Deals?? Closed?? Robbed?? Out of Business??

Indeed. Another (mini) tower crane for the skyline.

Interesting how so many of these cranes are on the east side of the city.
