There might be something coming up in the new year regarding those first 15 floors - details scant..for now

Yeah. . . I think I'll move this to the completed section tomorrow after I take a stroll around the perimeter after work tonight. . . meeting with Marshall (CTBUH/Emporis) anyhow so we'll talk about it then. . . also I'll take a photo in the morning when and - god willing - if the sun is shining. . .

That is a great illustration of the power of a (missing) hyphen. So the world's tallest female designed a skyscraper??? I bet she specc'ed higher ceilings than the ones in Aqua

(Still recovering from recent headline snafus in the Spire thread...)

Chicago's year in architecture
Modern Wing, Aqua, Serta and other highlights

Chicago Tribune
Blair Kamin

"...Aqua: This hotel and residential tower, by Chicago architect Jeanne Gang, brought undulating balconies and a spectacular sculptural presence to a skyline long characterized by repetitive right angles..."

A great 2009 capstone article: http://www.chicagotribune.com/entert...,2716103.story

The well-trodden path:
Driving may be a fact of life, but some communities still are made for walking

Chicago Tribune

"...Walkability equates to a healthy lifestyle, freedom of choice and convenience. [These are] significant quality-of-life issues for our residents," she said.

WalkScore.com rates communities for walkability -- new, old and those under construction, like the 82-story Aqua, a high-rise in Chicago designed to include condos, rentals, hotel and retail spaces.

Aqua's location within the 28-acre, $4 billion Lakeshore East development from Magellan Development Group kicked it into the site's "Walker's Paradise" category. Lakeshore East is adjacent to Millennium Park and three blocks from Michigan Avenue, one of the most walkable streets in the world..."

I don't see any reason to leave this in the U/C section. . . looks like it's done and the CTBUH guys (Marshall/Jan) agree that it's - for all practical purposes - been completed for a while now anyways. . .
