Peoria part 2

From east Peoria.

Back into Peoria.

Casino on and old cruise ship.

No beach so you just gotta have a boat.

Or go the boat races.

Or take a tour of a "boat"

In that first photo are those seagulls on the river? I wouldn't normally expect to see seagulls in that location. Closer to Chicago, certainly, but not in Peoria.

We get lots of seagulls here in the Quad Cities also. Pelicans too. You usually don't see them more than a few blocks from the river, though.

Nice pics!!

Yeah lots of Seagulls and other birds and wildlife especially on the eastside as it's rather rural or at least has lots of green park space.

Looks like a decent place even though Chicagoans make fun of it all the time.

Thanks for the photos. I grew up in Peoria. The city sure has done a not of cleaning up since I lived there in the 80s.

It is decent just small and a little "country" and they say it's the 2nd largest city outside of Chicagoland but 2.5 mill to 150,000 is a big jump.

I actually think Bloomington/Normal has more population than Peoria.

^Actually the Quad Cities metro area has more people than Peorias metro but half of it is in Iowa. Peorias downtown looks way better than all of our four downtowns put together though.

If ALL of you, only, knew what's coming! The Great Recession, like in most places, has slowed development. But, dramatic changes are coming to various parts of the city.... including downtown and the, adjacent, warehouse district. Stay tuned!

Bloomington does not, but the quad cities are pretty large. Springfield is larger than Peoria as well.
