Changes in height happen frequently as proposals make it through the system. The system even allows minor changes once the development has been approved and even once construction has started. The latter is problematic as only applications in the "old city" are posted online.

The height for built towers pre-dating 2005 mostly come from owners' websites, referenced in new development applications, and Emporis. Emporis' height source is highly questionable, the owner's websites aren't error checked, and the city rarely counts elevator overruns as part of the overall height.

Yes that is very obvious... There are a number of Tony's drawings where the roof height seems to be the total height, and the mech. part is even higher yet.

I do plan on doing more indepth research for the height data as part of building a more complete database however, there are just so many towers to cover.

I'm sure that eventually the database will be more accurate, just like the diagrams are slowly being filled in. I've almost reached the point where all the buildings over 100 metres are completed, except for a few that have no renders or pix (skyline Tower), and the strange case of L Tower and the Gansevoort Hotel (has it not been cancelled?)

I'm not sure whether the Gansevoort is officially dead or not however, I don't see it being built.

Not sure what to do with L Tower. I think the changes are significant enough for it to be considered an entirely new design. Some may disagree as well as creating new building pages for re-designs.

Congrats on 200.

Should have 300 by next week, eh?

LOL

Seriously though, I just take them one at a time. Actually, that's not exactly true. I recently started doing some of those slab buildings you mentioned a while ago, the ones that have multiple towers all identical to each other. Those things are easy to do and they have rapidly increased my overall number of drawings. Kind of feels like cheating somehow.

They do fill in the blanks. If only New York City had a mapping program that showed addresses. You could easily have 400 by next week.

Well, these, http://skyscraperpage.com/diagrams/?searchID=42850858, appear to be all the same on local live with the exception of "IX" that has some sort of cooling tower on top.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Wagner_Houses.jpg

For an example.

So what about Kitchener?

Please! You aren't seriously comparing Waterloo Region to NYC, or Toronto, are you? While there are instances of multiple slab towers here and there, very few are over 10 floors. There are a number of twins that reach as high as 19 floors, but they have already been submitted.

Great work on the mid-rises. They really do make up the bulk of Toronto.

Really good stuff. You're really smokin' through these apartment tower complexes. Just be aware that not all the towers are always twins (Rideau Towers consists of two cereal boxes and three Y shaped apartment slabs)

Yes you're right about Rideau, I made a bad assumption about all 5 being the same (except for their height/floors), only the 3 Y-shaped towers remain now.

Thanks Danny. I don't think Toronto will get more drawings than New York, because there are twice as many undrawn buildings still to be made in NYC than Toronto...
