They aren't on board with anything, just stating was has been stated repeatedly. And the city doesn't have anything to do with it.

Brass, the building council spokesman, said the group’s height committee will issue a determination after 1 WTC’s official dedication.
That's fair.

Depends on where the measurment is from. It's 1,368 ft from the southern, or memorial facing side. (Fulton)

This spire is certainly the best spire I have ever seen. Exactly how a spire should look, and its only going to get better with the top pieces and its final touches. The top very tall 3-4 pieces are what give the spire its sexiness. Patience is a virtue.

Also: Anyone see the night shots of the base panels? They are so reflective and bright, even at night. I cannot wait for the complete look, with LEDs and fins. The base is going to look remarkable. I was upset when the prismatic glass was cancelled due to mismanagement, but the replacement base cladding has been chosen wisely.

It's 30 Hudson Street.

That's including the parapet height.

Well, that sucks. Earthcam hasn't been doing too good of a job lately....the past two days they've pointed every cam they had at the memorial, and today they haven't updated their cam since before the sun came up!

We're all seeing these close-ups with it covered in a multitude of TEMPORARY worker platforms. Once completed, the spire viewed from the ground (without the radome) will appear a solid, tapered mast with a beacon on top. It looks awful at the moment because of all the platforms at every segment level.

[QUOTEThat's including the parapet height.[/QUOTE]

I did know that, but where were all the mechanical elements in the original 1WTC such as the air conditioning units? I don't remember that being an issue, were they hidden under the parpet level (hat truss)? underneath the antenna not visable from above?

AGREE!!
Lot of people mistake radome for Gold
I see radome bad for itself and inconsistent with glass

There were mechanical floors on 108/109 (as well as other floors), but most of the HVAC and mechanical equipment was contained in a central plant on the basement floors below the complex.

Unlike the original towers though, 1WTC is self-contained and doesn't have a central plant.

^ Wow, 1WTC is starting to exhibit the features of the North Tower in such uncanny ways. Kind of eerie and kind of cool.
