At 2:00 pm the sun was weak with a reddish color from the fires in northern California 140 miles away.

I like the looks of this building up close. This view is of the west & south ends. I see only the west end from my apartment in the Civic Center.

Yeah. I know it's slightly off topic, but some parts of the bay area looked outright surreal this weekend.

Such an impressive canyon of fine buildings we're going to have on lower Folsom St.

I believe that's because it will be about 40 feet taller - just shy of 480 feet to the roof.

See page 47 here.

minesweeper posted about it back on pg. 4 of this thread.

I just don’t like the look and design of this building but like the 400 Folsom building. Also, doesn’t a lot of buildings in SF look like it is taller than its height would indicate? That is how I feel anyway.

That's because a lot are on hills so get a visual bonus when it comes to height when viewed from far away. One Rincon Hill is 641 feet tall but looks 700-800 to my eyes because it's on a hill.

Guy Place vantage; In the future I think I will always "see" the construction elevators that line up between the buildings on this street.

it's 400 to the roof and 440 to the parapet from the ground, which is where all buildings are measured from (not sea level...)

447.21 to the roof from the site datum of 47.21. page 48.

I think it is a really ugly building with no character at all. It isn’t tall enough also.

It is looking much more interesting as the cladding is applied. View from the Civic Center with a zoom lens.
