All I have to say is,

Automatic recounts are underway in Nipissing—Timiskaming, Montmagny—L'Islet—Kamouraska—Riviere-du-Loup and Etobicoke Centre and will likely occur in Winnipeg North, so I'll update the maps once those are completed, hopefully soon.

Just noticed how many views this thread has gotten: 11,600. If only my photo tours got this many views.

one last thing before I go to bed:

6,201 reasons to support electoral reform

(if the image doesn't work, click the link above it.)

And just a reminder that I did indeed call that Conservative victory in Nip-Tem.

Vid -- these are absolutely fantastic! Thank you for all your work.

The mismatch between population size and physical size of the riding remains a bit of an issue in all conventional maps, though -- I think it's useful to combine those with a more schematic representation such as this one: http://electoralcartogram.ca/

In light of the discussion upthread of what would happen if the NDP and the Liberals merged and how many blue Grits there actually are, I thought people might find my own analysis of how the vote split (and if vote splits mattered all that much, esp. in Ontario) of interest: http://wp.me/p1ylrM-19

That's a huge number of views, there must be other sites linking to this.

Again, very nice work. There are a lot of people with graduate degrees who couldn't put something like this together.

I'm going to try something like this, keeping all ridings the same size. I'll include in the updated maps if I can complete it.

For those of you who support or are interested in electoral reform in Canada, check out orphanedvoter.ca. The blog owner contacted me the other day and I'll be contributing to it in the near future. If anyone else wants to contribute, go to the Blog and send a message through the contact page.

Also, tomorrow is "National Day of Action". Rallies will be held in several cities to spread the word about electoral reform.

All demonstrations to be held at 2pm local time.

Montreal — Berri Sq.
Ottawa — Parliament Hill
Vancouver — Vancouver Art Gallery
Toronto — Queen’s Park
Calgary — Harry Hays Building
Halifax — Province House
Charlottetown — Province House
Kelowna — The Sails, Central Park
Whitehorse — Elijah Smith Building
