any construction projects in my hometown of setagaya?

As I'm sure you know, there are not a lot of highrises in Setagaya. That being said, there is a multi-tower project in the works for the Futako-Tamagawa area. Unfortunately, so far I have only found specific information on one of the four towers in the project.

The Aqua Tower is an L-shaped building, and it's much larger than the other two buildings in that development, though of nearly identical height.
The Coccoon Tower I think is interesting, but I would like to see another rendering of it. That sort of webbing stuff on the outside is a little confusing to me. I can't imagine what the final product will look like, but the design of the surface will make or break it I guess.

Also Shibaura Island A1 Area Project has been officially renamed Shibaura Island Air Tower, leaving only one Shibaura Island building left with no official name.

I wonder why Sumida Tower (New Tokyo Tower) wasn't in the list? That tower will be going to be the tallest tower in Tokyo and whole Japan. Even I didn't see the orgional Tokyo Tower in the list... I wonder why... Isn't those GranTokyo towers belong to the Sumida Towers proposal.. (also I notice that Sumida Tower was approved at the Emporis.com)

The reason the Sumida Tower is not on the list is because I've only included proper highrise buildings, rather than that sort of tower. The original Tokyo Tower is not on the list both because it is not a highrise building, and because this is a list of buildings 99 m and up built since 2005, under construction, or proposed. Tokyo Tower is nearly 50 years old, so it wasn't included.

Anyway I don't mind talking about anything going on in Tokyo. The GranTokyo Towers are actually surrounding Tokyo station in Chuo ward, and are part of the large-scale redevelopment going on thereincluding. The redevelopment includes the two GranTokyo Towers, Sapia Tower, the restoration of Tokyo station Marunouchi side to its original 1914 form (it lost its 3rd floor in World War II), and the demolision of the Tetsudo Kaikan Building on the Yaesu side, which will be replaced by a concourse with shops and restaurants.

The Tokyo Tower project is unrelated. There were plans for a new transmission tower in the Kanto area. There were a few proposals, including the Sumida Tower and one in Saitama City. The Sumida Tower won the competition and will be built close to Asakusa.

Wow! It would be very exciting about Sumida built near the Beer Cup Building in Sumida where I saw last August

I've added the Akihabara Plan Building. They're basically finished demolishing the Nihon Tsuun Building and are in the process of clearing the site. the Akihabara Plan Building should begin construction in March of next year.

No big surprise in the design. Should be a nice enough looking building but nothing especially noteworthy.

The Mode Gakuen Coccoon Tower on the other hand interests me a lot, and could either be good or bad in the end. Construction is proceeding and the building should begin rising soon.

By the way, I went to Tokyo last weekend, very near to hamamatsucho station just near to the world trade center there is a new building under construction. Do you have some details about it?

4. Orix Akihabara Building: 81.15 m, finished October 2005
5. Yodobashi Akiba Building: 60 m, finished 2005

Under Construction
6. Fujisoft ABC Akihabara Building: 146.69, finished January 2007
7. Park Tower Akihabara: 80.7 m, maybe finished September 2006
8. Akihabara Zone 8 Building: 74.8 m, finished April 2007
9. TX Akihabara Station Front Building: 74.6, begun February 2006, no end date listed

Proposed
10. Akihabara Plan: 99.5 m, to begin March 2007, no end date listed

There are two buildings under construction close to the World Trade Center. There is Crest Forme Shiba Tower (クレストフォルム芝タワー) which is 136.4 m tall residential tower which should be finished in November of 2007. The other one is the Shiodome I-2 Block Office Complex Zone Redevelopment (汐留Ｉ－２街区業務系複合ゾーン開発計画) which is a 133.48 m tall office building to be completed in March of 2008.
You were probably thinking of Crest Forme Shiba Tower because it is quite tall now. The Shiodome Building is still only a few floors tall.

very nice picture..I can easily understand the location of those buildings..
By the way there is any news about the Nishi shinjuku 3 chome project..I am very intereted on that building because it is supposed to become the number one in japan....right?

To be honest I have not seen a whole lot of information on this project. Recently I've even found a different plan entirely. The most familiar plan for the site is the following rendering:

It's a little confusing to me, because there are two websites devoted to different designs of the same project:

It seems dubious that for such a massive project they can't even register a domain name for it. And when you consider the lack of information concerning such a project, and a complete redesign despite the fact that it is supposed to begin construction next year, I wouldn't get your hopes up.
