Downtown Frederick, MD: Let It Snow

On January 2, 2014, I took some random photos with my phone of Downtown Frederick, MD during the snow. I did not have much time since sunset was about an hour away. Enjoy

Thanks for your pics, shakman!

Frederick is a nice and cute town. I love all these towns of Maryland, and even more covered by snow. It looks quiet and charming, a pleasant town to live in.

Congrats and greetings from Madrid, Spain.

You would never know how cool this town is driving by on I-81 up to Breezewood.

Looks like old town Alexandria.

Great pics!

Thanks for all of the wonderful comments. I have always had a fascination walking around historic areas during snow events.

America's 49th largest city in 1820!

Frederick is great, and the riverwalk additions of the last decade are finally giving it some contemporary action to complement the historic sections. It's going to be very interesting to watch it transition into a more complete biggish downtown, as Frederick grows.

I have only lived in the Frederick area for 4.5 years. However within that time frame, the city has kept improving. The nightlife is quite large for a city of around 65,000. In addition there are a number of events during the wamer months which attract large crowds and live bands into Downtown. I am anxiously anticipating the proposed expansion of Carroll Creek Park towards the east along with Downtown expanding in the same direction. Since all of this development will be new, perhaps Frederick can have a skyline with some noticeable highrises.

Excellent shot Shakman! Lots of beautiful old buildings there, and the snow really adds a special touch.

Wonderful set, even if I did shiver a bit.

I really have to make some time for a more extensive visit to Frederick. Love the historical look of the city. Thanks.
