Me too Steve, I dream of some day building something in that same style. I love buildings like the library, but also want to see some more of the Boston style architecture in different areas of downtown.

Ummmm, Looks like Part of the building fell ontop of the wooden sidewalk. Hope no one got hurt.

Looks like as of now we have Three Tall cranes added to our skyline in the past Two weeks. One at Tower 1, The other at the base of Key Bank and the third at 222 South Main.

Holy cow guys. There's sooooo much going on downtown right now. This truly is the year of the cranes.

Base of a Crane at 222 South Main!!!

This is it guys. I went by the site today and as viperlord was saying the hole is twice as big and there's alot a base of a crane. check these out...

Well, well what do we have here.

Maybe some of you guys remember about two years ago when we played a game on here guessing on the color of the 222 South Main crane. It looks to be gray. So who ever guessed gray guessed right. LOL. I guessed blue, so I was wrong.

I bet we will see the crane set up by this time next week. Hell yea two new cranes in two week. We are on a roll here.

I too find the Boston and the Newhouse buildings to be some of my favorite buildings in the city. I really wish that the design theme of those two buildings could have extended all throughout Exchange Place. I like the SL Athletic Club building (original Vortex) and the Salt Lake Stock Exhchange building but I wish the east end of the block could match the west end.

As for the tower crains, I can't wait to visit again, and then be back for good to witness the craines in person.

Future Mayor, there's absolutely no reason why people like you and I cannot develop buildings downtown with the same authentic style as the Newhouse and Boston. Speaking for myself, this is my goal.

I'm just been blow away with all that is happening right now in downtown Salt Lake City. With alot of these projects for years it's been talk. But now just this past week or so we have been seeing tower cranes rise from this sites. It's nice to see things finally happening. This is a great time for Salt Lake! 127-room Hyatt Place hotel coming to Salt Lake

I agree Airhero, I love that area, especially the sunsets looking down upon the Great Salt Lake from the benches. I swear, I have never lived in an area that has as many sunsets, one day after another, as the Horizon beyond the Great Salt Lake. I don't know if it's because of the high salt content or what. I use to live up in Oympus Cove before I moved to LA. It seemed like there was hardly ever a day without a beautiful sunset over the Great Salt Lake. I can only imagine what it would be like living on the Bountiful bench.

Wren, I knew a lot of projects had either been recently completed or were under construction in the Metro. But when I started to put together a list, I was kind of shocked at how long the list became. Most of the projects are either quite large or at least significant trend setters. I still have a long ways to go to complete the blurbs on each project that I have on file. It's kind of become my scapper hobby or something, LOL. And then, forumers like Viperlord keep peeling back more and more layers of new projects, not to mention all of the great pic updates by our forumers like T-Mac, Projects, Steve, and others.

Anyway, we still haven't even touched Utah, Davis, Weber,and Wasatch County's yet. If you come across something of interest, especially in the Heber Valley, please post it or call it to my attention with a PM.

I really hope that this project and ones like the Marmalade will help this whole side of Capitol Hill. It has a huge potential. Hopefully things like this will spark development in the area and hopefully push out the refineries. Probably wishful thinking though.
