I walked by the site the other day and theres a nice sign and everything with the "observatory" listed above the doorway. The site is about to get a lot busier with all of the visitors. Next to the ESB, this will probably be the next biggest spot for an observation deck.

Probably the best vantage points for now or in the when it opens:

1) Top of the Rock
2) 1WTC
3) ESB

Although when the Hudson Yards deck opens, and I believe Vanderbilt, we will see which ones offers the most bang for the buck.

What I have noticed in general are the big efforts for the city to increase tourism. Everything from cleaning to trying to draw more crowds via parades and what not. Lately been seeing more of that then usual. Theres always something going on, but its been increasing.

I'm shocked no one's posted this.

One WTC's elevator takes you on a 515 year time lapse ride through lower Manhattan in one minute.

The video is a must watch (and yes, they show the original Twin Towers among every other landmark, still there or long gone, from the last five centuries)

I don't think so, since the video only shows up to the construction of 1 WTC.

I did notice some historical mistakes though. For example, the Equitable Building appears by 1892 (actual construction 1913-1915) and 14 Wall Street by 1903 (actual construction 1910-1914) but overall it looks very well done.
