799 Southdale Road West - two 5s residential, one 6s retirement (Under Construction)

This is the link to the Urban Design Brief for this proposal.

This proposal is being discussed at the UDPRP this March.

Really interesting infill development that goes to great extents to create a complementary infill development within an existing growing subdivision.

Lots of growth coming to the southwest end.

This is Vito's company and appears they are serious about getting into residential buildings. They built the 5s on Dundas near the Kellogg's plant. They had proposed the 25s on King St. but opposition to demolition wasn't going to be worth the effort when mother nature will do the job given time. Patience is on their side.

This looks like a very good proposal for the area. If only the city would get the dame road rebuilt and widen sooner rather then after all the development is already built.

They have been moving dirt the past few weeks so I figure that means he wants to get this started sooner than later.
Also agree about the road...especially if they do plan to put the roundabouts at Bostwick and Col Talbot it really needs to be done sooner than later.

Construction fencing up around this site. Southside Construction trailers now on site as well. Since the 12s on Pond Mills is now topped out I could see them moving some of the structural folks over to this project. I also expect that Southside will be the general contractor on one or more of the SOHO affordable housing buildings once they start up on South street.

Heavy equipment on the site on the west side where the 6s building is planned. Looks like that will be the first phase.

A tower crane is setup on the south end and concrete base for a 2nd tower crane on the north end for the 6s retirement building. Also Fieldgate Construction Management sign up on the fencing.

They have completed nearly all the footings and L1 posts now. Still have some of the L1 perimeter walls left to form and pour in the north end. I expect they will complete that after the holiday break and get most of the L1 floor slab poured as well by end of January.

Still have a section of L1 wall to form and pour on the north end to complete the L1 walls and posts. Have been working on a large section of ground floor slab forming for the NE corner. Still have not poured it yet. They have poured the 2nd floor slab and some of the 2nd floor walls and posts on the extreme south end of this building.

Have now poured another section of ground floor slab and have nearly reached the NE corner. Forming for more of the north end ground floor slab continues. More of the 2nd floor walls and posts on the south end have now been poured.
