No smoking ban for now in Vancouver parks

VANCOUVER -- Smokers in Vancouver’s city parks can wheeze a sigh of relief. The Vancouver Park Board decided Wednesday afternoon an immediate smoking ban in Vancouver parks was not necessary.

The board was considering raising the fire hazard from high to extreme, triggering an immediate smoking ban.

The park board uses data including wind, relative humidity, temperature and the moisture content in the top layer of soil to determine fire danger.

The park board will re-assess the dangers on Friday, and may issue an immediate ban then.

Isn't it a "smoking ban"? haha.

that's like a double negative. "NO SMOKING BAN" - pretty much means everyone has to smoke.
