LOS ANGELES | Downtown Project Rundown 6.0

I want to thank JDRCRASH for his contribution to the LA threads over the years. Unfortunately he has become rather busy and the old thread exceeded 700 pages. So with that being said, it is time.

In order to keep it simple and orderly, each project is listed from tallest to shortest in three separate sections: Under Construction, Approved, and Proposed. Some will be listed above others if activity is more frequent and more likely to break ground. I will only include projects that have shown signs of life in the previous 2 years. Anything else will be left out. Feel free to contact me for any corrections or additions.

Here is the skyline as it is today - extremely different from how it will be in 2 years time.

Welp.... it will be 2 years next month since the start of this new thread. Let’s look at where we’ve come

So we’ve literally built everything from the top table. All of the proposals are completed or under construction from the start of this cycle in the table. It’s time we hear about these coming projects and possible start/completion dates. Need more word from the likes of Onni on its 2 projects, Olympia, Shenzhen hazen. Updates on groundbreaking’s anyone??

Yup, amazing changes! We should hopefully see some groundbreakings by mid year to year end. Im thinking Cambria Hotel (its fenced off), Shenzen, Grand Ave, possibly fig and pico and 11th and Olive?

This was a terrible choice. The hut sits next door to the Central Market in Downtown in a paid parking lot. That should have been my first warning. The tables were dirty...extremely dirty. They seemed to have regulars but since we weren't regulars we ended up waiting 20 minutes and at that point I had to leave so I requested a refund. An aggressive homeless man was dipping in and out of the dining area. The owner was rude . Terrible customer service.

I’m a little surprised that we haven’t seen a groundbreaking from Cambria and I would expect Shenzhen to happen any week. Maybe both will happen after the all star game. I don’t know what they have at all star games, but maybe someone rented the lots for parking and/or “fan experience” activities.

Great job Mojeda!

Few mistakes
-Hanover Grand opened in November
-11th and Hill along with the other Forrest City development at 12th and Broadway are under construction. They broke ground in June or July.
-There's a small shitbox located at 1400 Figueroa between the two Avants. It broke ground recently. 106 units. http://urbanize.la/post/introducing-...ise-mixed-user

Since it's called downtown now, does that mean projects just within the freeway loop? Seems to me like projects in City West, Chinatown, and just below the 10 (SoLa Village) should be included

Great Job!

11th and Hill is U/C (last time I looked down in that pit they were coming up from below ground)

It has 177 apartments

And the same people are doing the vomitorium at 1216 Broadway, 214 Apartments, also U/C

The downtownnews.com quarterly survey says that the apt tower on broadway proposed by the devlpr from australia....I don't recall the exact name & location.....has been placed on hold by the owner due to complaints about its design from ppl in the planning commission or neighborhood coalition. The planners or activists say its design is too modern.
