^ Great combination of new and old tainted by 1650 Arch which looks like a thirty floor parking garage.

Not sure about old and tainted. 1974, when it was built, is not that old in the scheme of things. Maybe just somewhat ugly. But not as ugly as 1900 Arch...

I think there's an implied comma in his comment: "Great combination of new and old, tainted by 1650 Arch . . . ," i.e., "old" doesn't refer to 1650 Arch.

That "thirty floor parking garage" has long been known informally as the "refrigerator."

I'm actually bummed about it. I expected the middle to be lit like the rendering. Whereas the lighting below the spire is just internal lighting and conditional on occupancy. Same with the top part.

It's too soon to know or say that.

Totally agree. Based on this most up to date rendering those are my thoughts. I, like most, are hoping for a bottom to top lighting scheme.

that's what I was thinking. the lighting in the show sort of resembles the old lighting scheme that the liberty towers had.

For those of you concerned over the activity of the HVAC units half way up on the north side. They are very clearly running today with the cold temperatures. You can see the vapor.

I just don’t get how the top of the lantern sticks out a few inches from the rest of it rather than have it look like a solid piece. It’s vert slight but one you see it you can’t unsee.

^ someone else recently mentioned this. That protrusion will continue down the length of the building. Clearly visible in the renderings. It’s just not visible now because of the construction elevators.

I can clearly see where the protrusion ends. There’s no construction elevators there. Maybe they have to build it out since the elevators would have been in the way previously?
