Late February and it wasn't raining, soooo it was a good time to take a walk in one of Seattle's neighborhoods. Wallingford is an area immediately north of Lake Union roughly between SR-99 and I-5 (all north of downtown). Wallingford is surrounded by Fremont to the west, Greenlake to the north, the University District to the east. North 45th Street is the main drag going east-west and connects Ballard to the University District. There are no highrises in Wallingford, but the street is narrow and makes for a decent pedestrian strip IMO.
Here's a shot taken at a different time showing some of the lowrise Wallingford area:

North 45th Street (E-W) intersects with Stone Way (N-S). I was planning to go to the corner but saw something I hadn't noticed before.

I continued walking southeast to Stone Way to check out a couple of sites:

I reached the current Big Kahuna of the latest projects. A dinky Safeway grocery store with parking lots north and south used to sit here. It was demolished and hole dug for a project before sitting vacant for a number of years. It's finally changed for the better:

That's it for this walk.
