Hard to be dissapointed in that kind of consistant excellence (although I get what your saying about playoff dissapontments). That list is missing GC championships in 2008 & 2014 as well.
I lived through the 70s & 80s with the Stamps and those were not fun years. Give me the last ten seasons any day even with the playoff fails.

Oh I would have loved that sort of success for my team as well. But the downward spiral that has haunted the Riders since Banjo Bowl 2014 has really hurt. If only that Bomber defensive end had heard the whistle!

Montreal just announced that DD resigned for 3 years

I think that leaves Rakeem Cato on the outside looking in after Vernon Adams, do the riders make a play for him, Drew Tate or go with one of the younger guys?

Of those 3, only Adams has my interest. Which means the square root of sweet F*** all. Jones has to have a couple (or 10) names in mind.

I'm not sure how confident I'd be about making him #1 right away, but a fresh start somewere new might be good for Rakeem Cato.

^It's not like there'd be anyone in front of him here. QB or offensive line.

Is Drew Tate on the market? I don't know his contract situation at all.

He is still under contract to Calgary but there are recent rumours that he may get traded.

Is it fair to say the ship has sailed on the idea of Drew Tate as a starter? I checked his stats and I saw that he's started 14 games in 8 years with the Stamps... that's fewer than I thought.

^But he's only 32. He's got at least twelve years ahead of him.

He apparently is happy to be a back-up and not go after being a starter. Weird, but when you're winning like Calgary does, I wouldn't want to leave either.

Yeah - when Tate signed his last contract extension with Calgary he fully understood he would not be the starter. It surprised me as I thought he would want to go somewhere he could start. But he seems quite content being a backup in Calgary.
I remember listening to a rather awkward interview after he signed the extension with Tate having to answer why he didn't have the desire to be a starter. Maybe it's the injury problems ?

It's all for the Riders to trade Glenn to the Eskimos for Franklin. Kills two birds with one stone; Riders get a young QB, Glenn gets to play for every team in the league!

Reports are that GM Jim Barker has been fired by the Argos. No word on a replacement yet. Hopefully not Jim Popp

I have no words. Literally no words.

Aging quaterback with no offensive line. I'm having flashbacks of week 2 in 2015.

It's confirmed.
And Dave Naylor is saying that Popp ISN'T on the Argos list to be the next GM.
I guess other clubs have also stopped the Argos from talking to their candidates as it is too late in the year/progression of the off-season to switch up their own front offices.

Man, the Argos need to right this ship and fast. It's not looking good at all.

Why on earth would they wait until the end of January to turf Barker?
