Good to see that the site is already cleared.
Let the party begin !

(I'll have to admit that it does look like an intrusion in the area).

An idea of the scale

At least this area will be served by a new tram system which will link with the metro.

I did not notice that. Thanks for pointing it out.

Does anyone think the architect purposely designed the Marina Sky Towers to look similar to the Lake Point Tower in Chicago?

What an oppressive podium. I wish the towers would've met the ground instead of the podium top (similar to how the NY WTC used to touch down to the plaza level without any above-ground podium).

Great renders though, malec. Thanks for those. By the way, I routinely lurk on many Dubai threads on SSC, but, unlike you, I rarely post. However, thanks for the updates there as well.

First of all, not everyone will use a helicopter. Second, if everyone did use a helicopter, the congestion would move from the ground to the air. Also, the only way to use the helipad is if the destination has a helipad also. I do not think three helipads will solve any problem.

^Yeah, it's not gonna solve having to take a cab to the airport, wasting hella gas, then waiting for the helicopter and there's like 20 other rich people in line because all the helicopters are in one place. Yeah, it doesn't solve that.

I think Fabb was kidding. And yes, it does solve a bit of traffic. Plus there's an underground metro system connected to the towers.

I agree. The podium is much too high. The towers look pretty cool though.

Not really everyone. Some people get air-sick easily.
Those will use the elevators.

No, seriously, I guess that most of the apartments will be empty half of the year or more.

What underground metro? There is no underground anything in that area. Are you talking about Dubai Metro's Red Line or the Al Sufouh Tram?
