I like 601 West Hastings much more, but this is a good filler for that silly little lot. The whole block will look quite interesting once completed, as there is also that project to replace the garage at Granville and Cordova in the same block too...

I was going to make negative comments about the table-top height, but seeing how small that lot is, able to achieve something like this is pretty good for Vancouver, so I've decided to just shut my trap and give it a thumbs up.

Wow I had no idea that only half of the RBC building was completed in the 1930's. That explains a lot.

I meant to say it looks exactly like the tower on W Pender - The Exchange. Is it the same architect? It has to be.

It was to be built in 2 phases with the same design mirrored on the right. The depression killed the second half.

Nice to see all these new office buildings proposed for this block/area, but wonder who's going to fill all this space?

Probably various firms and companies. Possibly an extension to the RBC building.

Metrotower III in Burnaby still has only 6 out of 25 floors occupied. It's incredible how badly they managed to anticipate the demand with that tower. Different location for sure, but still... It is not easy to fill a whole tower, it seems.

Not to get off topic but Metrotower III was sold last year to Metro Vancouver. They occupy about half the building.

For this project, I think it will lease out really well. The floorplates are even smaller than MNP Tower and conducive to small 2,500-5,000 SF tenants which make up the bulk of Vancouver companies with downtown office locations.

Who's the property owner proposing this project? I've not seen any mention of that.

Awesome proposal -
Mixed feelings about the Princess Building being "Orphaned - unless it can also build tall eventually.

Yeah, if it were spruced up it would look better and be in keeping with the other 80's PWC building on the block. Would have been nicer if the land were incorporated into this though.

Some views of the site from the back alley and the surface parking lot (that is below street level).

I wonder what that cool stone wall was from and why it wasn't removed when the concrete was poured for the Princess Building. It would be great if that wall is visible after the new tower is constructed.
