That building in the foreground can't be long for this world, at least not in its current configuration and positioning.

Pics by me today.

Steel framing is being welded in place below the podium roof slab (see green scissor lift)
and you can see steel welded up from the slab edges on the podium floors.
So the office podium facade will not be curtain wall (?)

Pics by me today:

The windows that have been installed are in a unique recessed area of the facade
- so hopefully the rest won't be the same.

Narrower than the renderings.
Hopefully they follow through with the banding as shown in the rendering.

Just realized that the windows have the vents integrated into them above the large glass pane.
The units have 9 ft ceilings, so that allows space for an ugly bulkhead to house the venting.

^Will that older, turreted building in among the highrises ultimately be torn down for redevelopment? It looks as if it might qualify for heritage status. Does anyone know? Thank you

"The Homer" heritage apartment block was completely restored as part of the Beasley tower project. It's a little gem in the neighbourhood now with rental apartments and a very nice restaurant on the main floor.

Action shots by me Saturday, Nov 16th.
I've seen them stop traffic on Smithe while hoisting the forms,
but not this time.
