HOLLYWOOD, FL | Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Expansion | 461 FT | 36 FLOORS

Seminole Hard Rock Plans to Add Guitar-Shaped Hotel Amid $1.8B Expansion

Quote:
The Seminole Tribe of Florida announced plans for expansion today at their Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, which include a guitar-shaped hotel of 800 rooms, per the Sun Sentinel.

The $1.8-billion expansion is contingent on the state legislature's approval of a deal reached between the tribe and Governor Rick Scott in December. That agreement will generate $3 billion in revenue for the state over the next seven years and grants the tribe exclusive rights to have roulette, craps, and other table games.

The expansion would create 20,000 jobs, per the Seminoles, with the hotel "trying to create something that is iconic, that creates international tourism coming to Florida," according to Seminole Gaming CEO Jim Allen. This includes cabanas and tikis "submerged in water."

They applied with the FAA to build to a height of 461 feet last year. I guess it was for this project.

What's not to love about a 460 foot guitar shaped high rise tower in suburbia?

Just wish they would have made it a complete guitar rather than chopping off the neck.

Construction About To Begin On Guitar Shaped Hotel At Seminole Hard Rock

Quote:
A major expansion of the Seminole Hard Rock hotel and casino in Hollywood appears about to begin.

The tribe filed last week for FAA permission to install a 550-foot tall crane, with work to begin on March 1.

Last year, the tribe announced plan for a new 36-story story hotel at the Hard Rock Hollywood casino complex. The new hotel will include 800 beds, bringing the total at the campus to 1,273.

Also included in the expansion will be new restaurants, cafes, bars and a nightclub.

Klai Juba Wald Architects of Las Vegas designed the original Hard Rock hotel building in Hollywood, and is listed on renderings for the new building.

Massive guitar-shaped hotel at Seminole Hard Rock to be $1.5B investment

The Seminole Tribe of Florida smashed some guitars and welcomed several music legends as guests Wednesday as it unveiled the $1.5 billion expansion of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood.

The highlight of the project will be a 35-story hotel shaped like a guitar, and there will be many more features, such as a larger performance venue, and a manmade lake with Pacific islands-inspired lodging in the middle of the water.

Giant guitar rising in its suburban context. It will really tower over its surroundings. Downtown Miami on the far top right:

its really great to do fun buildings like this, i applaud that loudly and raise a bic lighter to it, but the guitartel looks pretty weird as just a body with no neck. a neck could even have been a nice observation tower maybe.

Looks like they have reach the cut out portion near the neck. Some one could probably tell me what that part of the guitar is called. I agree, they should have built the neck, could have just been a spire.

Guitar-Shaped Hotel At Hard Rock Nearly Topped Off

Quote:
At the Seminole Hard Rock, a tower that is being called “One Of World’s Most Recognized Landmarks” is nearly topped off.

The tribe is spending $1.5 billion on a massive expansion plan, including new casino, convention, and hotel space.

A hotel in the shape of a guitar is the highlight of the expansion. The 36-story, 450-foot tower is close to topping off and now the tallest building in the area, visible for miles.

The only thing more lame than a Hard Rock Cafe is sleeping in a guitar shaped Hard Rock Hotel. But it takes all kinds I guess.
