If you like beer, I suggest Fat Heads if you haven't already. They have 40+ beers on tap at all times and the food isn't bad either.

Awesome thread! I am a big fan of Pittsburgh myself! Pittsburgh is one of those cities I would label as 'gemmed up'.

Awesome photos! It's wonderful to be able to see such a great set of photos of the place I'm going to be moving to in just over a week!

This post will cover a small part of three area's (Homestead, Chatham Village, and the Hill District):

The Hill District

Across from the Hill is Troy Garden, Spring Hill is above it, both are city neighborhoods:

You can see Washington's Landing here, it is the island in the river:

Homestead

A struggling community, Homestead is building lots of new housing:

Established neighborhoods:

Nice continuation of an awesome thread! Gotta love the new urban Target in Liberty!

With regards to Homestead, I actually think that part of town is going to recover pretty well, given the success of not only the Waterfront retail complex (frankly it's a horribly suburban big-box pit, but I guess it's probably about as good as a huge brownfield site was going to get, plus that region needed shopping badly!), but also a few places getting fixed up along 8th, plus the Homestead Civic Center which has been hosting some pretty good A and B-list entertainers recently!

Nice to see some new additions. Some things have changed since some of those pics were taken. It looks like there's a pic of the old Edge Restaurant. That is now gone and hopefully One Grandview will take shape. It's going to be a 24-story hotel/condo building that will altimately transform Mt. Washington.

The photo titled "hospital reconstruction" is actually just "destruction." That's the old Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh which as you know was rebuilt in Lawrenceville.

I'm going to miss that old building. My diabetes doctor was in there on the 1st floor of the DeSoto Wing.

As always, I thoroughly enjoy your pics!
