Has there been any more work done to the awning in recent weeks. There are only a few pictures that show glimpses of it, but it looks pretty stagnant

.......so if they pour 1 floor every 4 days, and 40 days for the setback, that would put them well into November for the start of the final push to the top.......how many floors are in the final segment? ....are they going to close off the riverside construction elevators before the hotel opens ?

The final setback is scheduled to be done mid to end of november. I am not sure on the exact floor count to the top from the setback on 51. And no, the Hoist will not be shut down, just the access ramps to the garage and hotel floors are removed.

I think that is a very simple, yet very GOOD illustration at just how big this bad boy is about to be.. Thanks!

...I also think that it illustrates that even though it isn't 1/2 to the top...in terms of volume of materials put in place ....it is more than 1/2 complete....

I am confused by it too, JuniorReb. I don't think the warm material works with this tower's design or materials palette. I was expecting a nice, dark, polished granite or even just clean concrete. Maybe it's a reaction to everyone thinking that the old Miesian-style lobbies / plazas are too cold and sterile (although, from what I can see, the lobbies of this building are going to be pretty much in that category anyway, with all the cut limestone).

I guess SOM has some other ideas about this tower than what's been in my mind. Perhaps we'll all be a little surprised - good or bad - by the final outcome when all the finishes are in place.
