First off, Trump had glass up long before the Burj.

They were also designed by the same architect.

Wow! From this angle the tower really looks tall already. I can't imagine the completed tower from this angle. It also makes it look thin.

Great photos.

The variation of light makes it look dark/transparent (pics 1&2) or totally reflective. The impression is very different. I don't know which one I like best.

I love that angle down the Wabash canyon.
Those first couple shots also show an effect that I was wondering when or if it would happen.
The glass is transparent when viewed from above, and reflective when viewed from below. So when viewed from some middle level, the glass will change appearance from transparent to reflective, giving this two-toned look.

This is absolutely the building's best angle. It looks so much better with the darker facade than as a gigantic mirror.

Is that correct ? Nothing to do with sun exposure ?
In that case, it'll always be reflective from the street level.

No, you're right, I should clarify. The effect I mention is due to sun exposure and wouldn't be evident at night or on cloudy days.

Nice Image (Dubai). This building is going to make an impact on the river that we have not seen in a long time.

Will that corridor space between Wrigley and Trump looking west in SolarWinds photo (great photo as always Solar) line up with the new 353 Clark building? Hope so, right now it looks a little barren.

No, that view looks too far north, down Hubbard and Illinois. 353 N Clark is south of Kinzie and will be behind IBM still from that angle.

Kingsbury Plaza might fall into that view though, it's hard to tell exactly.

Don't worry, at some point that black parking garage will be replaced with a tower and that last precious bit of sky will be extinguished.

I actually think it would be better to leave a bit of breathing room between those two. Tall buildings a few blocks back, fine, but I think the blue sky enhances the view of the river.

^ You do raise a good point that the parking garage site have great river views if the building is tall enough. Now that Trump is rising and we can see exactly where it sits on its site, I'm sure some developer is bound to figure this out sooner or later.
