for whatever its worth, i really like this building. Its tough to build a tall residential building nowadays and not have it be a bunch of floor plates stacked into a box. I can't wait until this buildings first venetian night or 3rd of july to see the large terraces get filled. Aesthetically there are definitely minor things that i might adjust but, that is the privilege of the architect. The massing of the building is generally well done.

Personally, i would love to live in this building and i highly doubt that any of the harsh critics here wouldn't give up their living situation for a similar place in this building, which may be true measure of success.

So, anyone know when they put cladding on the cement shaft part of the building?

Back on topic, does anyone have an estimate as to when OMPW will begin rising above the street?

I'm glad (thanks for the close up shots Bvic) that the black lines in teh crown aren't permenant. It looks like the raised forms will lie in those grooves. (maybe that obvious). I think the crown will look much better in tht respect. I was real worried for a sec.

What I see is that crown on top fits in well with the shape of Soldier Field and the color of this building takes on the color of things in that area. This building is gorgeous to say the least.

This building has always felt cheap to me,
as a matter of fact most of Museum Park
and almost all that pappageorge has done

it's a decent addition to the skyline, but up close ... meh

Hey - I've been lurking for awhile. I've enjoyed the posts and pictures and I have some info. to add. I received an e-mail from Museum Park regarding the progress of both OMP and OMPW.

OMP should be finished by April with closings to begin mid April through early July for residences 6 though 34. Furnished models will be available for viewing in the coming weeks.

OMPW has just completed all caisson and structural perimeter work. Using "up/down" construction methodology, excavation for the first basement level is in progress. Apparently, by April the building will begin to take shape. Further, the building's foundation will consist of secant piles.

Maybe this is old news to some, but I found it interesting.

Seconded. Don't hesitate to post any official info you receive. Good news on OMPW! I love how it will be filling the hole in our hearts left by the completion of OMP.

Well, this project is near and dear to my heart. I'm buying a condo in OMPW so I'm obviously a little antsy/excited about how it'll turn out. If I get any more info, I'll pass it along.
