Maybe now people will have Chicago Spire member names.....LO
Even if in the end it turns out like that (which I think is unlikely), still it will take many, many years to complete it so BD's title would be safe for years. Not to mentioned by that time, someone else would have build something even bigger.

However the new design it will take many months of reviews before being aproved or rejected.

The roof of BD is at 643m so still taller. What the CS does though is takes away the fact that dubai would have had the 10 tallest res towers in the world

What people need to concentrate on is the quality of the building, not just the height.

Go here to look at all of them, old and new:

I need to update it with the one below and a couple that were posted a few days ago.

The MODEL HOUS will be coming soon.

Large versions I thought I had lost forever. I better post 'em before I lose 'em again:

That is very impressive. I want to see how the facade will actually look. If it looks good this tower will be wonderful.

Thanks! Those are awesome pictures from the building!

So as far as we know right now, the title has the correct heights, but they may, or will likely change?

Hey Slug, we missed you! Nice of you to come back with avengeance!
Strange how at L86 it looks higher than the Rose Rotana!

Did you have a nice break?

I noticed on Slug's huge render (BTW, how recent is that?) That there appears to be some sort of fence/structure around the top of the tiers. Anyway, it made me wonder if any of the tiers were going to be accessible to residents/occupants. Have we geard any news on that front, or are those roofs likely to be 'authorised personnel only' areas?

On the official EMAAR video, the Burj Dubai tower shows people out on the veranders with parasols, tables and chairs. I assume most of the lower ones will be for public use and some for private use. I've seen a few different versions; but all have some sort of balcony around them.

^ They're from Re-max and they are still for sale. I guess you could rent them out. 1183 SQF ain't bad for a 1 bedroom. I was in a 800 SQF apt. until I moved into a house and it was ok, but I had to live minimalistic.

Down here in hurricane country, it is safe to say that your monthly mortgage/taxes/insurance cost will run close to about 10% of the selling price. Mine was close to 8.5%
